Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Orbit iOS app and this website. It does not replace the privacy terms of Apple, PostHog, RevenueCat, or another service you choose to use with Orbit. The developer identified on Orbit's App Store listing is responsible for Orbit's data practices.

Orbit stores the information you enter so it can pace and track your routines:

• Routine names, categories, and notes
• Goals and frequencies, such as daily, 3 times per week, or 150 minutes per week
• Snooze dates and archived status
• Completion timestamps and amounts, including counts or time logged
• App preferences, such as which day your week starts on

Orbit does not send routine names, notes, category names, or completion history to PostHog or RevenueCat.

Routine content is stored on your device. When available, it syncs through your private iCloud account using Apple CloudKit so it can appear on your other devices. If you are offline or not signed into iCloud, Orbit continues to work locally. Orbit does not operate a developer-hosted backend for routine content and does not receive that content through normal use of the app.

iCloud and CloudKit are operated by Apple and are subject to Apple's own privacy policy and terms. Your use of iCloud is governed by your relationship with Apple.

Release versions of Orbit use PostHog Cloud EU to understand whether the app and its features are working well. PostHog assigns a random analytics identifier. Orbit does not call PostHog's identify function and does not associate analytics with your name, email address, Apple Account, or an Orbit account.

Analytics may include:

• App lifecycle events and the names of app screens you visit
• Actions such as creating, completing, undoing, archiving, or snoozing a routine, finishing onboarding, opening an explanation, or deleting app data
• Limited properties such as goal type, period, numeric target, source screen, snooze duration, and aggregate counts
• Technical information such as app version, device and operating-system information, locale, time zone, and network metadata such as an IP address

Orbit does not use session replay and does not record your screen. It does not capture screenshots, routine text, typed text, or the visual contents of your screen.

Purchases are made through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes your payment method and full billing details. Orbit and RevenueCat do not receive your full payment-card information.

Orbit uses RevenueCat to retrieve products, verify purchases, determine whether Orbit Pro is active, restore eligible purchases, prevent purchase fraud, and provide purchase support. RevenueCat may process an anonymous app user identifier, App Store receipt and transaction information, product and offering identifiers, subscription and entitlement status, trial eligibility, price, currency, store, country, and limited app or device information.

RevenueCat does not receive your routine content. Learn more in RevenueCat's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy.

If you contact the developer for support or a privacy request, the developer receives the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, and any diagnostic information or attachments you send. Do not include routine content unless it is necessary for your request.

The limited information described above is used to:

• Provide, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot Orbit
• Sync routine content through iCloud when enabled
• Process, verify, restore, and support Orbit Pro purchases
• Understand feature usage and improve the product
• Respond to support, privacy, and legal requests
• Comply with law, prevent fraud, and enforce Orbit's terms

Where applicable, these activities rely on providing the service you requested, the developer's legitimate interests in operating and improving Orbit, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where required by law. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests by contacting the developer.

Personal information is not sold or rented. Information is shared only with providers that help operate Orbit, principally Apple for distribution, payments, and iCloud; RevenueCat for purchases and entitlements; and PostHog for anonymous product analytics. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.

PostHog EU customer analytics data is hosted in Germany. Apple and RevenueCat may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, international transfers use contractual or legal safeguards intended to protect the information.

• Routine content remains on your device and in iCloud until you delete it, use Orbit's deletion control, or manage it through Apple's services.
• Anonymous analytics is retained only while useful for product analysis and is then deleted or aggregated under the configured PostHog retention settings.
• Purchase and entitlement records may be retained for restoration, accounting, fraud prevention, disputes, and legal compliance.
• Support communications are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request and meet legitimate record-keeping obligations.

In Settings, “Delete all data” removes routines, categories, and logged entries from the device and the synced iCloud copy. A synced deletion may take time to reach an offline device. This action does not cancel a subscription and does not automatically delete purchase records held by Apple or RevenueCat, or anonymous analytics already received by PostHog.

You can manage iCloud through your Apple device settings, manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account subscription settings, and restore eligible purchases from Orbit's purchase screen.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information, withdraw consent, or complain to a privacy authority. Use the support contact below to make a request. Because Orbit does not associate analytics with a known identity, the developer may be unable to locate a specific anonymous analytics record without a relevant technical identifier.

Orbit relies on safeguards provided by the operating system, Apple's iCloud platform, and its service providers. Reasonable measures are taken to protect information, but no storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be absolutely secure. Your device passcode, Apple Account security, and iCloud settings also affect the protection of your data.

Orbit is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required by local law to consent to data processing. Orbit does not knowingly collect identifiable information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided such information should contact the developer.

This policy may be updated when Orbit's features, providers, or legal obligations change. The latest version will appear on this page with a revised effective date. Additional notice will be provided when required by law.
